OUR FOCI
Ending the
Stigma
Mental health suffering is everywhere and it needs to be embraced. 1 in 5 Adults will experience a mental health crisis, worse yet most won’t receive professional care. Sadly, we often find that stigma is perpetuated by intergenerational silence, shame, systemic racism, poverty and inequity. But we are bigger than our struggles and perceived differences and we can work together to bring down the barriers that prevent us from seeking help.
Synergy & Interconnectedness
We are all interconnected, all of us are linked by unseen bonds and together form a kind of universal family. Concern for those who suffer needs to be met with sincere love for ALL fellow human beings and an unwavering commitment to resolving the mental crisis problems of our communities. Because, as the wise Jean-Bertrand Aristide stated, “When one suffers, WE ALL suffer.”
Replacing Failed Systems
There needs to be a distinctive way of looking at mental health, a new way of thinking, policies, an education programs, a lifestyle and a spirituality which together generate HOPE & paradigm SHIFT where we viewed mental illness not as a sickness or pathological condition but rather an experience of discomfort, distress and mental pressure that is a normal part of life.
Liberty, Justice, & THRIVE for ALL
To Suffer is human. Yet, systems that deny millions of our brothers and sisters their most basic economic, social and cultural rights only creates more suffering through poverty and unequal access to resources. Everyone deserves the right to community support, socio and economic resources, and affordable care to manage suffering and to THRIVE in life. It is about giving to the poor and to the suffering what is theirs by right. WE ALL have right to THRIVE, not just a privileged few.
